| Overview
|
VersaUV
LEC-300
1.
Versatile Production Tool
CMYK + White + Clear
+ Contour Cutting
Across an unprecedented range
of substrates, the LEC-300 prints
CMYK + White + Clear Coat and
contour cuts for unmatched versatility.
The LEC-300’s White ECO-UV
ink creates crisp, flawless graphics
and text and can be used as an
undercoat to enhance the brightness
of four-color prints. ECO-UV Clear
Coat adds remarkably rich special
effects ranging from high-gloss
finishes for area highlights to
custom-textured effects such as
faux leather, crocodile skin and
even Braille. Contour cutting
produces graphics of virtually
any size and shape. |
 |
Your Choice of
Substrates
The VersaUV LEC-300 prints on paper
including metallic surfaces for labels,
decals, POP displays and posters.
You can also use the LEC-300 to create
original patterns and 3D domed corporate
logos directly onto synthetic and
natural leathers. Customize window
coverings, tapestries and other interior
décor items. VersaUV also supports
printing on foils, BOPP, PE, PET film,
offset printing paper stock and more.
Ideal Pre-Press Device
The LEC-300 is a very capable pre-press
and proofing device that can save
commercial printers the many costs
associated with press downtime. In
fact, each time a shop has to take
a flexo or gravure press offline to
print a proof or prototype, significant
productivity and profits are lost.
Flexo printing even a single proof
or comp requires creating plates,
adding labor and material costs to
the job. The LEC-300 eliminates these
issues for businesses and allows them
to keep larger presses online for
production.
Perfect for Short Run Production
With VersaUV, you can eliminate outsourcing
for short production runs as well.
In small quantities, you can easily
produce truly unique, customized graphics
and wraps of virtually any shape,
size and texture. Production is easy.
With VersaUV, there are no plates
or film to produce. Simply design
on your personal computer, send your
file to the printer, and VersaUV does
the rest, printing and digitally die-cutting
your finished print quickly and easily. |
|
|
2.
Integrated Print/Cut Feature
The LEC-300 streamlines the production
process by automatically contour cutting
printed graphics. By eliminating the
need to reload and reposition graphics,
the LEC-300 integrated cutter saves
valuable time and effort. |
|
| |
3. World’s
Most Advanced UV Inks
ECO-UV ink was especially formulated
for the LEC-300’s curing system
for perfect curing at all available
print speeds, delivering high color
density and wide gamut for exceptional
images print after print. Instant drying
and flexible, ECO-UV ink produces prints
that require no degassing and can be
stretched and applied around curved
surfaces and edges without cracking. |
 |
| The
LEC-300 prints CMYK + White + Clear
Coat. ECO-UV clear coat gives an unprecedented
high gloss finish to UV output, and
also improves scratch and chemical resistance
for greater outdoor durability. Although
not designed for long-term outdoor applications
without proper UV protection, ECO-UV
ink shines for indoor graphics, offering
superior scratch and chemical resistance.
Outdoors, ECO-UV ink lasts up to a year
when clear coat is applied as a finish
and up to six months without clear coat.
Packaged in no-mess 220ml cartridges,
ECO-UV ink is VOC-free and safe after
curing. With ECO-UV ink, proper ventilation
is recommended. The LEC-300 is ventilation-ready,
featuring a ventilation hood for easy
connection with an air filtration system. |
| |
| 4.
State of the Art Curing System
The
LEC-300 includes two state-of-the-art
solid state UV LED lamps arranged
in a staggered configuration
that offer many advantages over
conventional UV lamps including:
Longer Life
LEC-300 LED lamps last up to
10,000 hours which is ten times
longer than conventional UV
lamps. |
|
Low Heat
While conventional UV lamps can reach
temperatures as high as 1500°F
(800°C) requiring complex heat
management systems, the LED lamps
on the LEC-300 generate very little
heat. This ensures that the UV lamps
virtually eliminate any heat-related
risks such as substrate damage and
head crash caused by media deformation.
Instant On/Off
LED lamps can be turned on and off
instantly and are ready to use immediately
after the printer is turned on. By
contrast, conventional curing systems
may take up to ten minutes to reach
the targeted output level. Conventional
curing systems also require complex,
noisy and failure-prone shutter systems
to protect substrates and head capping
systems from exposure to UV light
and heat.
Produces Two Clear Coat Finishes
The staggered arrangement of UV lamps,
with the left lamp mounted in line
with the print heads and the right
lamp mounted forward, is another Roland
innovation. This first-of-its-kind
configuration enables a choice of
gloss or matte clear coat finishes.
When gloss finish is selected, only
the right lamp is used for curing,
allowing enough time for clear coat
droplets to spread and form a smooth
surface which reflects light evenly.
For matte finish, both lamps are used,
curing the clear coat droplets shortly
after they land on the media forming
a rough surface which scatters the
light. |

and media, Roland Intelligent
Pass Control technology delivers
outstanding image quality in all
print modes while eliminating
virtually any signs of banding.
First introduced in the SOLJET
PRO III series, this patent-pending
system ensures that graphics look
great when viewed indoors or outdoors,
up close and at a distance. |
|
|
| |
7.
Advanced Media Take-Up System
The
LEC-300 includes an automated
media take-up system to facilitate
precision unattended printing.
This pre-assembled unit includes
an advanced tension-controlled
take-up system for optimum media
feed and tracking. |
 |
|
| |
8.
Ethernet Connectivity
Roland understands that busy shops
need to maximize the layout of
their workstations and printing
equipment. High-speed Ethernet
network connectivity is built-in
standard to the LEC-300, so it
can quickly process gigabytes
worth of image data for everyone
in your shop. |
|
|
| |
9.
Energy Efficient and Ozone Free
The LEC-300 requires only 320W
of power – one tenth the
power required by conventional
UV printers. Accordingly, the
LEC-300 can be operated on a standard
electrical outlet without an additional
power supply. The LEC-300 is also
the world’s first Energy
Star certified wide format UV
inkjet and automatically enters
a low power mode when it is not
used for an extended period of
time. This low power design automatically
saves thousands of dollars in
electric bills each year and reduces
considerably the emission of green
house gases. In
addition, the LEC-300 uses a
light source that is completely
ozone free and emits light in
the range called Near-UV of
the UV spectrum, making it a
safe alternative to conventional
UV lamps. The LCE-300 carries
Roland’s Eco-Label for
environmental compliance. |
 |
|
| |
10.
Reliability
As with all Roland inkjet printers,
the LEC-300 is a virtually bulletproof
production machine. With regular maintenance,
it will provide years of trouble-free
service. But, unlike most inkjets that
require daily maintenance, the LEC-300
requires servicing significantly less
often. |
